John Deere’s new S-Series combine, launched this week in Indianapolis, showcased an all-new cab designed to be the ultimate man cave. The last time John Deere came out with a new combine cab was in 1989, when it introduced the 9000 Maximizer series. This year, the company totally revamped the cab to incorporate premium comfort features and simpler controls.

First you’ll find more space. Interior space was increased by 30% to give you room to stretch your legs. Visibility was also improved by narrowing the corner posts, adding more glass, and reshaping the window to the cab so you don't have to lean forward to see the unloading auger.

The cab is loaded with many premium features to improve driver comfort. First, there’s a new premium operating seat and heated seat option. For the ultimate in comfort, a refrigerator is now tucked underneath the buddy seat so you don’t have to worry about lugging around a cooler. The buddy seat folds up to create a work surface for those times you need to multitask.   

Also added are new controls and displays. A new, slimmer, digital corner post display takes up less space than previous displays and adds to visibility. A 7-in. touchscreen display comes basic from the factory. For the first time ever, one display gives you control of all harvesting functions.

Outside the cab, eight lights come standard, along with optional HID lights to improve visibility at night. The lights provide a wider and longer sight line so you can see the full width of a new 40-ft. draper head and 16-row corn head.
