The star of John Deere's 2012 agricultural equipment lineup is the new S-Series combine that showcases a system for automated grain unloading. Deere recently introduced the high-tech combine and unloading system during an event in Indianapolis, IN.

The unloading system called Machine Sync uses GPS signals and automation technology to synchronize the combine and tractor pulling the grain wagon. A high-speed wireless network is set up in the field to handle up to 10 vehicles. The combine operator can see the location of all grain carts while in the combine cab. A ready-to-unload request can be sent from the combine wihen the grain tank is full. Deere expects Machine Sync to be ready for market in early spring 2012.

The new S-Series combines also are equipped with larger corn heads and platforms, plus a luxury cab with amenities like a refrigerator and ice maker.

Also featured in Deere’s new lineup are high-horsepower 4-wd and track 9R/9RT tractors, 6R Series row-crop tractors and 5 Series utility and specialty tractors.

“Across the board, we’ve increased the power and added many features to our new equipment that will make customers even more productive, wherever these machines are used,” says Barry Nelson, manager of John Deere Ag and Turf media relations. “These are the most innovative, technologically integrated and productive farm machines we’ve ever designed.”

Earlier, Deere introduced its new 7R Series tractors for the row-crop market and a self-propelled 4940 sprayer with 1,200-gal. solution tank, 120-ft. booms, and advanced loading and application technologies. The company also revealed its revolutionary Triple-Mounted Mower-Conditioner that cuts a swath more than 28 ft. wide.
