Cheminova adds two sulfonylurea herbicides

Cheminova, Inc., has received registration for Accurate Extra Herbicide and Harass Herbicide in time for the 2008 growing season. Both products are in the sulfonylurea family and offer selective, postemergence weed control in cereal crops.

“Accurate Extra Herbicide is a combination of thifensulfuron, tribenuron and metsulfuron,” says Jim Barrentine, technical services director for Cheminova. “That means growers can use this product for outstanding broadleaf control in wheat and barley as well as fallow. Accurate Extra controls more than 70 broadleaf weeds including tough ones like wild buckwheat, henbit, Russian thistle and tansy mustard.”

Harass Herbicide, with thifensulfuron as the active ingredient, can be used for selective postemergence broadleaf weed control in wheat (including durum), barley, oats, and fallow. “Harass controls 40 tough broadleaf weeds, including wild mustard, bushy wallflower and flixweed,” says Barrentine. “Harass can also be tank-mixed with several grass herbicides so growers can effectively control broadleaf and grass weeds in one pass.”

Both Accurate Extra and Harass will be packaged in 10-ounce bottles.
