Exapta offers the new UniForce hydraulic downforce for JD 50/60/90 series no-till drills. The system replaces original equipment springs on each opener with hydraulic cylinders to apply uniform force to the opener throughout the range of travel. The aim is to reduce hairpinning of residue and improved maintenance of opener depth. Key features of the system include the reduction or elimination of residue hairpinning; consistent planting depth; better use of frame weight; all without loss of transport clearance.
The Exapta Uniforce system uses single-action cylinders maintain a uniform force across all drill openers, and uniform force through the entire range of opener travel.
Single-action cylinders maintain a uniform force across all drill openers, and uniform force through the entire range of opener travel. No modifications of the opener are required to install the Exapta UniForce. The down-pressure is adjusted by a single valve located on the drill frame, or by a switch in the cab (optional). Hydraulic flow requirement from the tractor is relatively low, although an accumulator is available as an option for older tractors pulling the drill in terraces.
