For many in the agriculture industry, the past two years have been analogous to a “soft” sports schedule that is full of less than stellar competition. The record of profits may be strong; however, when one looks more closely, higher than normal profits are likely the result of government payments and higher commodity prices pre-inflation.

Now, the tough part of the schedule is in front of us in the agriculture industry for 2022 and beyond. This will require you to sharpen your business acumen to meet the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities that are ahead.

I would personally like to invite you to Coralville, Iowa, to the Farm Futures Business Summit on January 20-21, 2022, for an educational venue that is designed for lifelong learners that are willing to be challenged. Analogous to a coaching clinic, this is an opportunity to attend information packed sessions in finance, risk management, and global and domestic economics to assist in navigating the tough part of the financial, business, and economic schedule.

The conference is an excellent opportunity to bring family members, employees, managers, and the younger generation together to be exposed to new looks at the future of agriculture business. Engagement with peers and industry thought leaders is a good way to benchmark yourself, your business strategies, and practices that can provide energy for your business model.

This conference was a vision on paper on Interstate 55 two decades ago and has evolved into a top-flight midwinter educational event. I will discuss the domestic and global economic megatrends. My presentation will include information about inflation, interest rates, China, land values, consumer trends, and other variables that will impact your business strategy.

This educational venue will help put the odds of business success in your favor in a challenging economic environment. High octane business strategies and actions will be presented, along with take-home tools for application. Having shared the stage with many of the other presenters, I can personally attest to the value of this investment in your business, the people on your team, and yourself.

I hope to see you in Coralville, Iowa, to jumpstart your business journey in the tough part of the economic schedule that leads to a pay off in your business, family, and personal life.
