Business session will be June 13 in Lincoln.

The Nebraska Cattlemen's Midyear Meeting will feature a presentation from the president and CEO of JBS Swift & Company.

The event will held June 12-13, with the annual golf tournament on June 12 near Ashland and the business session June 13 in Lincoln at the Holiday Inn Downtown.

The Nebraska Cattlemen's policy committees on June 13 will address animal health, brand, education, marketing, natural resources and tax issues. Many issues affect Nebraska cattle producers and cattle producers can voice their opinion during policy discussion at these meetings.

The annual NC Research and Education Foundation Luncheon, sponsored by the Nebraska Soybean Board, will be at 11:30 a.m. At the luncheon, winners of the Retail Value Steer Challenge and NC Youth Scholarships will be announced. Keynote speaker at the luncheon is Anita Estes-Wollenburg, a former Nebraska and National FFA officer, who will discuss leadership involvement and efforts to keep youth involved in agriculture.

The general session will begin at 4 p.m. June 13 with keynote speaker Wesley Batista, president and CEO of JBS Swift & Company. JBS is the largest beef processor in South America and one of the largest worldwide beef exporters. The company bought Swift & Co. last year. This year, JBS announced acquisition of National Beef, Smithfield Beef Group, Tasman Group and Five Rivers Ranch Cattle Feeding, the largest cattle feeding operation in the world.

During a Friday evening Political Action Committee fundraiser finale, producers can view the new "Beef State" documentary and hear comments from film producers about the making of the film. In addition, cattlemen will have the opportunity to view the NC Research and Education Foundation's Olaf Wieghorst painting "Rough String Rider" that is on loan to the UNL gallery.
