Merry Christmas!

Wishing you and yours a very merry and blessed Christmas, from the Spangler family.

First, a question: what in the wide world happened to December? How is it already Christmas Eve? Not that anyone has an answer to that, but here we are. In a few short hours, the entire Spangler family will descend on our house, and it will be a chaotic and blessedly fun mix of cousins, presents, food and festivities. I cannot wait. Neither can my kids. My. Word.

So now, I am off to wrangle small excited children and attempt to keep my house resembling some degree of cleanliness until our guests arrive. With that, I leave you with our Spangler family Christmas card and letter, and the most heartfelt wishes for a very merry and blessed Christmas, from our farm to yours!

2010 in Quotes heard about the Spangler household

Jenna: “Who do you like better, Nathan, Cubs or Cardinals?”
Nathan: “What’s a cups?”
Jenna: “It’s the CUBS. They’re a basketball team.”

“Stop wunning! Settle down!” —Caroline, to her siblings.

Well, I love you, a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and hug around the neck...Take it, Nathan!” —Jenna, during their 2nd Prize-winning
duet at the Fulton County Fair Talent Show. He totally took it. And he was dressed as a rooster.

“Not weally.” —Nathan, to the talent show
emcee (and a full grandstand), who asked if he was looking forward to kindergarten.

“Well, it’s come to this.” –John, on our summer evening entertainment of watching frogs catch moths on the office windows.

Jenna: "Mom. Is that MY ponytail holder?"
Holly: “Yes, it was laying on my bathroom counter and I needed one, so I used it.”
Jenna, wrinkling her nose: "That's the one Nathan dropped in the toilet."

That pretty much wraps it up! 2010 brought a tough spring, an early harvest, lower corn yields, two kids in school and a lot of joy and laughter. God is good! We wish you the very best in the coming year; may 2011 exceed your expectations.  My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. Psalm 62:1.

John, Holly, Jenna (8), Nathan (almost 6) and Caroline (2 1/2)

P.S.  And because I love a good kindergarten joke, what did Adam say on December 24th? It's Christmas, Eve!
