Last year, I attended the InfoAg conference in Springfield, Ill. for the first time and I was blown away at the amount of information and ideas I learned about the future of precision ag technology. It was the first time Farm Industry News had covered the event, and it locked in the need for us to be there for each one in the future. Some of the most innovative technology providers and forward-thinking, high-tech growers are there to share their stories and ideas for the future of agriculture.

This year marks the first time the conference will be held for two consecutive years in a row, which is a testament to how much interest there is in agriculture technology and the future of farming.

So I’m headed to St. Louis, Mo., on July 28, where I expect the attendance at InfoAg will be even higher than last year’s conference. If you live in the area, and you are at all interested in precision ag, I highly recommend you consider signing up for the event. InfoAg kicks off with a pre-conference tour on that Monday, July 28, which includes visits to the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and a John Deere dealership, and the day wraps up with UAV demonstrations. Then the full InfoAg conference will take place from July 29-31 at Union Station in St. Louis. Just about every hot topic in precision ag will be covered in the presentations: UAS usage in ag; agricultural apps; on-farm Wi-Fi; data integration; autonomous systems; technology payback; multi-hybrid planting and more. Plus, there’s a great exhibit hall where attendees can check out these new technologies first-hand. It’s sort of one big “cool kids of ag tech” hangout for anybody that loves to learn and talk about what’s coming in the future of agriculture.

Knowing there are plenty of you that may not be able to attend, please follow along as I cover the event in a couple weeks. Follow us on Twitter, or search for the #InfoAg hashtag (see below) to get live updates from the show. It’s a fun way to participate and see what the big news and trends are even if you can’t make the trip to St. Louis.
