Be #thankful4ag!

Be #thankful4ag!

November. The month when most of us probably think a little bit more about what we're thankful for. What am I thankful for this month? I'm thankful my kids are healthy and happy. I'm thankful for an adoring husband and supportive parents, and a loving sister. But I'm also thankful for agriculture. Are you?

This month in particular, let's all be #thankful4ag. In doing so, go to, a cool website set up by Bayer CropScience. There, you can create a virtual holiday meal, learn some neat agriculture facts, and, the best part, help donate meals to those in need. Each time you share your meal, Bayer will donate 10 meals to Feeding America. Their goal is to donate 200,000 meals this Thanksgiving and holiday season.

So, go to and create a meal. Let your kids help choose the dishes on your plate. Read the fun ag facts to them. Share your meal, and know that not only are you being #thankful4ag, you're donating meals to those who maybe won't get the chance for a big holiday feast.

Take some time this month to really think about what you're thankful for. I know I'm always thankful for my family, but really, I wouldn't be where I am today without them. And I probably don’t express or appreciate that enough. And I truly am thankful for agriculture! Not only does the ag industry provide my wonderful family with food, but it provides me with an incredible job.

What are you thankful for this year? Leave a comment below, then go to and share your meal, so those in need can share a meal, too.

A side note to the photo on the homepage: That's my uncle, who I'm also thankful for. He always brings a warm hug and some laughter to the table, and provides a perspective I may not have considered. So, thanks, uncle Kevin, for being you.
