ATV add-ons make chore time easier

Fit your ATV to haul small loads, protect you from the elements, or pick up bales.

These accessories fit most ATVs, and you won't have to limit them to work only. Pull snowmobiles or motorbikes out to trail with one of the new utility trailers from ShoreLand'r, or add a Plug-N-Play (page 68) to your ATV and bring a cooler full of food with you while you check crops.

Hauling help. ShoreLand'r Utility Trailers has about as many configurations for trailers as there are jobs to do.

Model BK1400U carries 1,400 lbs. of whatever you need. The trailer's narrow bed and low-profile tires allow it to handle rough terrain and tight off-road maneuvering. An optional lightbar kit lets you do some highway hauling and can easily be removed for loading and unloading, or for off-road work.

The working deck is 52 100 in., and stake pockets along the frame accept 2- 4-in. boards for side rails. The company also offers accessories such as a brake kit for hauling heavier loads and a tongue jack for easy hitching. Prices were not available at press time. Contact Midwest Industries Inc., Dept. FIN, Box 235, Ida Grove, IA 51445, 800/859-3028, or circle 218.

Trick up your all-terrain. There are many products available to protect your ATV from rocks, mud and debris, but how about something to protect you from bugs, tree limbs and wind? Poly Tech Industries' new Brush Buster windshield will do just that while it adds extra storage space to your dash.

The shield mounts to the front rack of many different ATV models and has a dash area that features a center tray and two side compartments to stash gloves, hand tools or snacks. Suggested list price: $380. Circle 219.

The company also has a hitch receiver that mounts to the frame of an ATV. Once installed, the Plug-N-Play accepts many different accessories including a tool box, winch kit, seeder or spreader, and platforms. Accessories can be plugged in, pinned in place, and you are ready to go. Suggested list price range: $40 to 70, depending on front or rear mounting and ATV model. Circle 220.

Poly Tech also offers the RG EZ-Mount system to make adding and removing accessories to your racks easier. The mount installs to most ATVs, and with a couple of pins, you can add many of the company's accessories. Suggested list price: $50. Contact Poly Tech Industries Inc., Dept. FIN, Drawer 349, 238 Industrial Park Dr., Monticello, GA 31064, 800/542-7659, www.poly or circle 221.

Moving loader. The new Ground Hog loader from Walla River Enterprises is only 47 in. wide to fit into tight areas for loading, moving and hauling pallets, bins or bales. The loader fits most ATVs and has a 400-lb. load capacity with full hydraulic pressure, up or down. The company claims it is easy to install. Lift height varies with machines but averages 42 in. It comes with a six-month limited warranty. Suggested list price: $2,250 with a set of buckets or forks. Contact Walla River Enterprises, Dept. FIN, 54396 Walla Walla River Rd., Milton-Freewater, OR 97862, 877/266-7403 or circle 222. Roxanne Furlong
