Arizona alfalfa management workshops set for Sept. 28

Alfalfa growers interested in sharpening their skills are invited to participate in one of two identical half-day alfalfa management workshops on Sept. 28 in La Paz County, Ariz.

Topics to be discussed include: Fall Insect Management by University of California (UC) Extension Agent Michael Rethswich; Roundup Ready Technology in Alfalfa Production Weed Control by UC Extension Weed Specialist Bill McCloskey; Alfalfa Fertility Management by University of Arizona Extension Weed Specialist Mike Ottman; Managing for Optimum Alfalfa Quality by UA Area Extension Agent Eric Norton; and the Diagnosis and Treatment of Alfalfa Diseases by UA Extension Plant Pathologist Mary Olsen.

The morning session from 8:30 a.m.– 11:15 a.m. will be held in the Avi Kwa Ami Farms conference room on Laguna Road in Mohave Valley.

The afternoon session will be held from 1 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. at the Arizona Western College Vocational Center, 601 11th Street in Parker.
