The House Agriculture Committee held its first hearing on the 2012 farm bill outside of Washington on Friday (April 30). Varel G. Bailey, a corn, soybean and cattle producer and former chairman of the National Corn Growers Association, gave his impression of the hearing after testifying before the committee in the Cattle Auction Barn at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.
