PRODUCT DEMO: Jared Kruntorad (background right), FieldWise sales manager, demonstrates the new Z5 pivot-control device for customers at a company open house recently.

FieldWise LLC, based in Ewing, Neb., just launched a remote irrigation telemetry tool that the company says will revolutionize the ease, affordability and access of telemetry in irrigation management.

Its new Zempat 5 irrigation control device features a responsive touch screen with a graphical interface, supporting modern swipe gestures, similar to a smartphone. The capacitive touch buttons are durable and will not wear like existing soft panel controls.

The family-owned company says that this device will make the expensive replacement of a main center pivot panel a thing of the past, because it can be retrofitted into any existing panel for nearly every pivot manufacturer, so you can take full control of your pivot immediately after installation.

The Z5, as it is known, is GPS-ready with full control of pivots, pumps and wells on its private in-field radio network. It features a 5-inch, full-color capacitive touch screen with a smart menu navigation, over-current protection and faulty micro-switch detection. When paired with the FieldWise Portal, it allows full access to all controls in or out of the field, and synchronizes all changes on both interfaces.

SWIPE SCREEN: The new FieldWise Z5 pivot-control device retrofits on almost any pivot panel and uses modern capacitive touch-screen formatting, so it works much like a smartphone.

Control features for the Z5 include start, stop, direction, pump, chemigation, speed, up to three end guns, flow, remote wells and intelligent collision detection. It also includes controls for auto-restart, auto-reverse, pressure start and pump pressure at the main panel and end of the system.

FieldWise technicians tested several units near their headquarters this past summer. Now, they are ready to market the new Z5 commercially for the first time this spring.
