New York Beef Producers and Cornell team up for another New York Farm Show series of daily half-hour beef profit-bolstering sessions. Live animals of the major breed provide a backdrop for the sessions in the Dairy Building's Beef Center.
Here's what's on the daily menu:
10 a.m. Techniques to halter-break calves with ease
10:30 a.m. Clipping and grooming cattle on show day
11a.m. Proper feeder calf castration methods.
11:30 a.m. Setting up a safe and effective cattle handling system

BEEF ON-THE-HOOF, ABOUT THE BOVINES, AND IN THE BOWL: Live animals, need-to-know topics and tasty bowls are served up daily in the Beef Center at New York Farm Show. Noon Ultrasounding demonstration, and its importance
12:30 p.m. Safe and healthy farming practices
1 p.m. Preconditioning feeder calves for profit
1:30p.m. How "repro" technologies boost herd performance
2 p.m. Test your beef cut know-how and win prizes
Yes, the New York Farm Show's famously delicious hot beef sundaes will be there, too! The New York Beef Industry Council will begin serving bowls of the buttery mashed potatoes on slow-roasted beef, topped with gravy plus Cheddar cheese and a cherry tomato at 11 a.m. daily.
