Youth organizations have major roles in the success of New York Farm Show.

When you walk into the very first building at New York Farm Show, you'll be greeted by young people with big smiles. And, they have a hand in a lot of events going on at the show.
"They are the future of the agricultural industry, and New York Farm Show supports them in their efforts of promotion and fundraising," says Show Manager Scott Grigor. "Youth organizations play a major role in the success of our show," he adds.
The 27th annual New York Farm Show, February 23-25 in Syracuse, will involve young people from 4-H, FFA and the Morrisville State College's Agricultural Engineering Club. Members of the Oneida County 4-H Teen Council will greet you as you enter the show, collect your ticket and offer you a show program.
GET PINNED! 4-Hers will again be selling Tisco 6 by ¾-inch hitch pins for a fund-raiser. They'll also help staff American Agriculturist's exhibit just inside the Horticulture Building. "These outstanding young adults have been involved for many years and are professionals-in-grooming," notes Grigor.
The 4-H youth will be selling hitch pins at the ticket entrances' as a fund-raiser. The pins are $5 each or five pins for $20.
Future Farmers of America and New York State FFA Alumni conduct the Friday night toy auction, starting at 5 p.m. Members of the FFA State Officer team assist with the auction of more than 200 farm toys. "The auction has been a good fund-raiser for the FFA over the years," adds Grigor.
The Stockbridge Valley FFA will be selling maple syrup and maple products plus milk and ice cream in the Dairy Building.
Morrisville State College's Agricultural Engineering Club assists with equipment cleaning during show set-up. These individuals work very hard and provide an excellent service, says the show manager.
"As we look back at the past 27 years, all of these youth organizations have brought added energy and excitement to the show." And Grigor adds, "As the manager, I'm truly grateful for their participation and the guidance by their chaperones and adult leaders."
