Angus Association releases its annual report of those who registered the most animals.

Illinois' 10 largest Angus breeders registered 1703 Angus during fiscal year 2006, which ended September 30, according to the American Angus Association.

The 10 top recorders in Illinois are: Sauk Valley Angus, Rock Falls, 398 head; Sunny Valley Farm LLC, Yorkville, 204; Steve Hillman, Morton, 174; Hunter Farm, Alexis, 157; Sundberg Farms, Mendota, 151; Tomlinson Farms, West Frankfort, 143; Mark Ray, Berwick, 128; Callan Farms Inc, Stonington, 127; Werner Angus, Rapids City, 114 head; Dameron Angus Farm, Lexington, 107.

Angus breeders across the nation registered 347,572 head of Angus cattle in 2006 compared to 324,266 in fiscal 2005. The American Angus Association, headquartered in Saint Joseph, Mo., is the largest beef registry association in the world in terms of both annual registrations and active members.
